PROBLEM

The workplace is one of the biggest sources of stress, yet most companies still rely on after-the-fact interventions—an EAP hotline, a mindfulness webinar—once burnout is already taking hold. Founders and mental-health practitioners Frankie Lewns and Dr Paris Alexandros Lalousis knew employees needed a simpler, earlier nudge toward self-care and leaders needed concrete signals, not guesswork, about team morale. Without product-development experience, however, they faced a gap between clinical insight and a consumer-grade app that busy workers would actually use.

Mayfly stepped in as product partner, translating clinical expertise into an engaging mobile experience. A friendly check-in flow captures emotion and context in under a minute, while a library of guided meditations, micro-break exercises and short learning modules surfaces instantly relevant support. On the back end, an anonymised analytics dashboard highlights department-level mood trends, enabling managers to spot unhealthy patterns and act early. Secure architecture and NHS-compliant data governance underwrite every interaction, clearing the way for adoption by healthcare providers and corporate clients alike.

HOW WE GOT THERE

Discovery workshops fused Bloomwise’s therapeutic framework with user-story mapping to define core journeys for employees, managers and clinicians. Rapid prototypes tested tone of voice, check-in cadence and privacy messaging until participants reported “no-friction” use. Parallel branding sprints gave Bloomwise a calm, science-backed identity that resonated in both boardrooms and app stores. Mayfly’s operational coaching produced scalable workflows for customer support and data governance, while investor-ready collateral helped the founders secure funding—including a $25 k stake from Mayfly itself. Within a year, Bloomwise landed its first NHS partnership and rolled out to thousands of users.
