PROBLEM

Corporate gifting has long defaulted to branded swag that ends up in drawers or landfill. Founders Caitlin Knoepp and Chase Mattison saw an opportunity to channel that spend into social good, yet their first attempt—a custom app tied to physical gift cards—introduced cost, logistics and UX friction that stalled adoption. They needed a simpler, purely digital experience that could scale fast and delight both givers and recipients.

solution implemetation

Mayfly joined the project at ground zero, stripping away the physical layer and rebuilding Feels as a friction-free web app. A Givinga integration unlocked a catalogue of more than 1.5 million vetted nonprofits, while a bespoke Stripe flow accepted Apple Pay, cards and ACH in a single step. Built on Bubble.io for rapid iteration, the platform moves users from gift creation to confirmed donation in under two minutes, no downloads or sign-ups required for the recipient.

HOW WE GOT THERE

Collaborative workshops mapped every stakeholder journey—HR managers, employees, finance teams—and surfaced the make-or-break moments: issuing bulk gifts, tracking donation receipts and proving tax compliance. Low-fidelity click-throughs validated the new flow within days, and successive sprints layered on brand expression, real-time charity search and automated receipts. Mayfly’s cost-efficient low-code stack delivered an MVP in weeks, giving Caitlin and Chase a live product to demo to early corporate partners and investors.

"Working with Mayfly has been incredible. Geo’s passion and problem-solving turned our vision into a smooth, cost-effective MVP that’s already winning over corporate clients. We can’t wait to see how far this journey goes."

INSIGHTS

Feels shows that social-impact tech succeeds when the feel-good moment arrives with zero cognitive load. Removing physical tokens slashed operational drag and carbon footprint alike, while universal payment options widened corporate uptake across finance policies. The charity-first catalogue reframes gifting as self-expression—employees choose causes that matter to them, amplifying personal connection and brand goodwill. Most importantly, the low-code foundation proves that purpose-driven platforms can reach market quickly without sacrificing polish, allowing impact to scale at start-up speed.
